Kwanzza

Kwanzaa2

Tomorrow is the start of Kwanzza (Dec 26th- Jan 1st) so I thought I would use this post to let you know what Kwanzza is and showcase some of the great materials the library has on this Holiday.
Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration in the United States and Western African Diaspora and in other nations of the Americas. The celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture, and is observed from December 26th to January 1st. Kwanzaa has seven core principles or Nguzo Saba. It was created by Maulana Karenga, and was first celebrated in 1966–67.
