Thanksgiving

That’s right folks Thanksgiving is just around the corner and if you’re like me you have nothing planned, Yikes!
My boyfriend and I hosted our first Thanksgiving dinner last year for our parents and it went really well. I did the whole over ambitious Martha Stewart thing by brining the fresh turkey, making two kinds of stuffing, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and a few other dishes. We bought new linens for our table, I made a themed center piece and matched the napkins with the plates. Everything seemed to be going well. I made a few dishes ahead of time so I could just reheat them and spend time with the family.
I neglected to take into account that it was going to be 30 degrees that day and in an apartment without AC with 6 people and a dog it gets very hot very fast. We also had someone let themselves into our apartment thinking it was his mother’s place. Even with a dog barking at him and a strange young women asking who he was he still walked into the front entrance. It took him a few seconds to realize he was not in the right place. All the food was great and nothing got burnt or was undercooked. I’ll be doing Thanksgiving again this year with only the invited guests and hopefully no drop-ins.
